Sept 19th Taxi Driver 7:00 PM Many call this film an enigmatic masterpiece. Nominated for four Oscars, another 18 international wins and nine nominations. “Scorsese's style selects details that evoke emotions, and that's the effect he wants. The performances are odd and compelling. He goes for moments from his actors, rather than slowly developed characters.” Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times. USA, 1976. Rated R for violence.

Nov 14th My Architect 7:00 PM Nominated for an Oscar, another six international wins and three nominations. The secret life of architectural genius Louis Kahn is featured in this documentary created by his son. Director Nathaniel Kahn travels the world to understand his father. He visits his buildings and haunts, meets his father's contemporaries, colleagues, students, wives, and children. Louis Kahn died bankrupt and alone in 1974; Nathaniel Kahn was 11 years old. 2003 USA.
Dec 5th Persepolis 7:00 PM Nominated for an Oscar, another 15 wins and 21 nominations. A poignant coming-of-age story of a precocious and outspoken young Iranian girl that begins during the Islamic Revolution. Marjane Satrapi grew up wearing sneakers and beating up boys. She wanted to grow up to be a saint. When she was ten years old, her world changed overnight. Iraqi bombs fall on her street. This is a true story of a childhood coinciding with regime change and war in Iran. 2007, France. Rated PG-13 for mature thematic material.
